The popular Silva Ranger compass has gone through a recent face-lift that includes new colours and graphics as well as a distance lanyard so you can measure the distance of your route.
A DryFlex grip enables you to keep hold of the compass in wet conditions and clear markings make it easy to read.
The scale markings on both the base plate and the lanyard allow you to measure the distance on 1:25k and 1:50k maps perfectly.
With luminous markings and a declination scale inside the capsule the Ranger can be used day or night.
As well as being detachable the lanyard is also soft, and easy to manipulate if you wanted to measure a winding route on a map.
The bezel on the compass is also easy to use and a magnifier helps you to read small numbers and lettering.
